Many Different Types of Dog Toys

Don't make the same mistakes I made with my Beagle!

All pets like to play with all sorts of toys, even if there are specific for each of them. There is a large dog toy market and you have a lot of choices among different types and models, and many of them are so nice that you are tempted to buy one of each of them. Your pet cannot use more than one toy at a time and the rest will just stay there and get dirty.

Multiple Uses

You can spend a lot of money on too many toys and this will be of no use, since the dog won’t play with them. Keep in mind that a dog only requires one toy for each purpose so it is a good idea to limit the playthings. You will this way avoid the chaos that too many toys all over your house will create.

In order to establish how many toys you have to buy, you should firstly know for what purposes are they useful, as your dog will need one for a specific activity. Though many of these dog toys can be used for multiple purposes, there are also specific ones.

• In the first months of their life, pets need to chew some softer toys in order to develop their teeth, gums and jaws. Moreover, as it also happens in the case of children, the teeth that appear will hurt the puppy and chewing will soothe them.

• All dogs need to exercise in order to maintain a healthy status. Just moving with no purpose can be boring for your dog, but playing with a toy will be an enjoyable opportunity to exercise for him.

• Toys stimulate a dog’s mind, thus, preventing problematic behaviors like boredom on one hand and excess energy on the other hand

You will love to add to your shopping list some dog toys, besides the usual dog food and treats, and your dog will also be happy to play with them.

Multiple Choices

There is a large variety of dog toys on the market, as there are different purposes, different dogs and different manufacturers. Look at your pet’s age, size, physical capability and needs for play before deciding on any of the following toys:.

• For the times when the owners need peace to focus on another problem, they can give to their pets one of the distraction toys especially bought for such moments. Examples include chew toys, food delivery toys and puzzle toys.

• Bones can either be made of rubber and latex or be actual bones of other animals. They have the special instinct of burying bones as food reserves. Bones have also sanitary use, as the dog will clean its teeth from plaque.

• The simplest toys are the sticks or the pinecones. Playing fetch will be as fun as ever using these homemade toys.

• Balls are also great toys to play fetch with your dog. Be sure to choose a ball of the right size in relation to your dog’s mouth. You don’t want your dog to suffocate with a ball.

Rubber or latex toys are the most wanted. Think also if your dog can safely play. Keep in mind that safety is more important that enjoyment especially in the case of your beloved pet.

dog toysare designed for different purposes. Both puppies and adult dogs need physical exercise. Be sure the dog toys you are choosing are safe to use.
